  • Interview with Liang Lawrence
We had the pleasure of interviewing Liang Lawrence over Zoom video! London-based singer-songwriter Liang Lawrence shares her new single “Kiss My Apocalypse” via The Other Songs. Featuring fuzzy, serotonin-boosting electric guitars, the new song is an unabashed declaration of love and commitment.Lawrence said of the song: “‘Kiss My Apocalypse’ is probably the least casual way you could tell someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with them. I found it refreshing to write a love song that just simply puts my cards on the table and lets someone know how I feel.”“Kiss My Apocalypse” arrives on the heels of Lawrence’s new EP What’s Dead and Gone, an evocative coming-of-age portrait that’s garnered praise from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Atwood Magazine who hailed the body of work as “masterful storytelling and unforgettable melodies.” She celebrated the EP’s release with a sold-out debut headlining show at London’s Omeara this fall. Over the last few years, Lawrence has continued to build a devoted loyal following – her debut EP letters to myself amassed over 1 million streams in a matter of weeks upon its 2023 release and earned support from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop.Having grown up in eight different countries, Lawrence’s ability to find a home everywhere she goes is reflected in her borderless audience with listeners around the world. Initially drawn to music as a source of grounding consistency, she taught herself to play guitar and write songs from her bedroom, ultimately creating music that tells stories and expresses the messy emotions in everyday life.We want to hear from you! • Interview with BØRNS
We had the pleasure of interviewing BØRNS over Zoom video!Chart-topping, platinum recording artist BØRNS has shared his timeless new EP Honeybee, available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. The release puts BØRNS’ full spectrum of songwriting on display, paying homage to 60s and 70s icons like Elton John, The Beach Boys, and ELO. Honeybee serves as a continuation of his journey from 2023’s Suddenly, but with a much warmer, uplifting energy after exploring the 6 stages of grief.“This project is about finding love in new places, and it was incredibly exciting to create a record that felt so alive by tracking the songs with all live musicians,” he says. “Drawing inspiration from the classic records I grew up on, this EP feels like a celebration of everything that brings me joy.”In addition to releasing new music, BØRNS plans to announce his first shows in over five years in 2025.  BØRNS is an artist who taps into something enduring, yet has always been strikingly ahead of his time. His debut album Dopamine not only lit up the charts but also gained new virality in 2020 with "Electric Love," which currently boasts over 1 billion Spotify streams and was hailed by Taylor Swift as "an instant classic."  Throughout the 2010s, BØRNS shared the stage with countless iconic artists, such as Lana Del Rey, Bleachers, The Lumineers, Halsey, Charli XCX, and many others. He was also a featured artist for Tower of Song: A Memorial Tribute to Leonard Cohen, and Angel Headed Hipster: Songs of Marc Bolan and T.Rex, alongside a line-up of legacy artists. Both projects were produced by the late, great Hal Willner. After a sold-out US tour and his second Coachella appearance in 2018, BØRNS took a break, stepping away from the spotlight to recalibrate and dive deeper into his craft. His latest work showcases a more intimate and authentic side, teaming up with a seasoned arranger to create some of the most authentic songs of his career.  Just as he did with his debut, BØRNS is once again set to push the boundaries of music, shaping a sound that feels both familiar and entirely new. The question on everyone’s mind: where will he take us next? The answer: Honeybee. We want to hear from you! We had the pleasure of interviewing Slow Joy over Zoom video!Slow Joy, the solo project of Dallas based, New Mexican born Chicano artist Esteban Flores, is thrilled to announce his first official US headline tour. The February 2025 run has Flores out supporting his Mi Amigo Slow Joy EP, which was released June 7th, 2024 via Mick Music. Produced by Mike Sapone (Oso Oso, The Front Bottoms), the EP earned Slow Joy the “Best New Band” designation in the Dallas Observer’s Annual “Best of Dallas” roundup and drew comparisons to The Pixies, Modest Mouse and Smashing Pumpkins.Slow Joy spent all of the fall on the road supporting Real Friends alongside Can’t Swim and Carly Cosgrove on their Forever And Ever and Ever And Ever And Ever And Ever And Ever Tour. The two month long tour visited most every major city across the US and was Slow Joy’s biggest trek to date. Mi Amigo Slow Joy follows 2023’s Wildflower EP. The new EP was extremely well received, with FLOOD writing, “...the EP is a celebration of the past three decades of alternative rock music condensed into something more broadly appealing than any of Nevermind’s non-single tracks.” The Chicago Reader described the Mi Amigo Slow Joy EP as “...melanges of grungy shoegaze.” And KXT 91.7 said the EP features “crunchy, alt-rock-inflected soundscapes [with] searching, vulnerable lyrics.” Flores’ growth as a songwriter and musician can be heard throughout the four new tracks, an accomplishment he credits Sapone for helping him to achieve.Slow Joy is currently working with Sapone on his debut album, due in early 2025. • Interview with Hinder
We had the pleasure of interviewing Hinder over Zoom video!Lately, Hinder are feeling the intensity of a new energy. Nearly two decades into their career, the multiplatinum band hasn’t just endured as a fixture of modern rock—it’s evolved. The versatile Oklahoma City-based quartet creates emotionally compelling rock, from hard-hitting anthems to subdued, contemplative ballads. Now, the band is looking to the future. With the new single “Live Without It,” a soulful showstopper about letting go and moving on, taking the lead. Hinder’s story begins in 2001, when Cody Hanson (drums), Joe “Blower” Garvey (lead guitar), and Mike Rodden (bass) met and activated their musical chemistry. The 2005 hit “Lips of an Angel” from the band’s debut album Extreme Behavior, since certified 3x Platinum, topped the charts and remains a radio mainstay. Powerful lead vocalist Marshal Dutton joined them in 2015. Throughout their discography, Hinder has embodied an ethos of defiance and tenacity through gutsy lyrics, rousing melodies, and soaring choruses. Each album in their musical journey has reflected a progression, from the grittier early days of Take It to the Limit to the more introspective and exploratory energy of their most recent album, 2017’s The Reign. With a renewed sense of purpose and drive, and still never afraid to take risks, Hinder is poised to continue forging its legacy as one of rock’s most enduring and dynamic bands. We want to hear from you! • Interview with Grace Davies
We had the pleasure of interviewing Grace Davies over Zoom video!Grace Davies unveils her latest single 'Another Night,' a masterfully crafted, feel-good pop anthem which showcases her remarkable vocals and creative talent within songwriting & music production. The track's infectious energy immediately captivates listeners, creating an irresistible and timeless soundscape that will leave you instantly hooked.Crafted in collaboration with producer Paul Whalley & topliner Ben Lythe, 'Another Night' draws inspiration from Grace's childhood musical influences, notably ABBA, infusing the track with a nostalgic, warm, fuzzy feeling that resonates deeply with us all. The production masterfully balances retro elements with contemporary pop sensibilities - creating a unique for current times, yet universally appealing sound that wraps listeners in a comforting sonic embrace. ‘Another Night’ is a result of an unconventional songwriting approach for Grace – working backwards from melody to lyrics. "I never work like that, normally" Grace reveals. "I usually have a specific topic I want to write about, come in with lyrics pre-prepared, and then find a melody. This time “Producer Paul” had the piano part already in his voice notes and I just mumbled gibberish over the top that happened to sound like the words “Another Night”. It was really fun to imagine what the song could be about from a title, rather than picking from past experiences." Grace, Ben & Paul have become somewhat of a “dream-team”, in their own words, across the forthcoming project - with ‘Another Night’ being their inaugural co-write together. At its core, 'Another Night' explores the delicate balance of relationships pushed to their breaking point. The track delves into the territory of paranoia in love, chronicling the moment when small grievances snowball into irreparable damage. The song's gradual build-up mirrors this emotional journey, culminating in a powerful revelation of vulnerability and regret. Yet, true to Grace's artistic vision, she transforms this heavy narrative into an uplifting dance-pop experience. When listening to Grace Davies' single ‘Another Night’ she playfully notes, "You can't help but dance... ‘Dance Cry’, my personal favourite genre!" This brilliant juxtaposition of emotional depth and catchy chorus, paired with the nostalgic melodies, creates a fun pop anthem that is not only relatable but encourages listeners to find joy and have fun, even in life's more challenging moments.About Grace DaviesGrace Davies is a 27-year-old singer, songwriter, musician and producer from Blackburn, Lancashire. Since the beginning of her career, Grace has scored huge success, with over 100M+ streams for her songs on Spotify alone, support across the board at radio and acclaim everywhere from The Sunday Times to the BBC. At the age of 18, Grace’s first self-released project received national BBC Introducing support, was championed by BBC 6 Music and had a track remixed by Radio 1 Dance Music DJ, Danny Howard. In 2017, she was invited to appear on the X Factor and her audition video of original song ‘roots’ went viral. In a first for the show, Grace shook up the format by showcasing her original material throughout the competition and triumphed as runner up - gaining a top 2 iTunes chart position and numerous top 10s. 2020 marked the start of a new era in Grace’s career – her debut EP Friends With The Tragic reaffirmed her reputation as an exceptional songwriter. Following the closure of her former label SYCO, she self-released her second EP I Wonder If You Wonder in 2021, which was an even bigger success - with standout release ‘roots’ (written solely by Grace), reaching the Top 3 in the UK iTunes Single Charts, the Official Charts Top 100 and the UK Big Top 40, as well as plays on BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, Heart & Capital FM. Her last EP, It Wasn’t Perfect, But We Tried sees her at her most confident and in the producer’s chair for the first time. As well as writing credits on all five songs, she co-produced three tracks, and fully produced two of the tracks herself, proving her a true multi-hyphenate. Grace’s catalogue continues to gain in popularity for sync in international TV programmes, including Love Island, Britain’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebrity (Get Me Out Of Here), Strictly Come Dancing, American Idol, Eastenders, Hollyoaks and many more. Grace is completely owning her sound and is never happier than being at the forefront of her projects, both sonically as well as creatively. As a result, she is blazing a trail for women in a male-dominated industry. Grace Davies has had a consistent stream of incredibly crafted music that deeply connects her to her listeners; part of that body work includes her previous single “A Wonderful, Boring, Normal Life'  generating acknowledgement from Clash Magazine, Equate Magazine and The Official Charts Company.  Now with her latest single 'Another Night,' she channels her artistic excellence into a nostalgic pop anthem that proves Grace Davies is back better than ever, ready to dominate both playlists and dance floors across the UK.We want to hear from you!
