On the evening of Wednesday June 16th, 2010: a woman frantically ran into the Palmdale police station with blood on her clothing to report a murder. She claimed she had just found her friend, 29-year-old LaNell Barsock, murdered by a single gunshot wound to her head inside her own home and that she knew who did it. Within hours, an arrest was made, and to investigators, it seemed like this was a straightforward case. However, as they dug deeper, they realized they made a big mistake. They arrested an innocent person… but by the time they realized who they should have been looking at… it was too late because they were now on the run.

On March 4th, 2025 - cleaning staff walked into a hotel room and discovered the lifeless body of a young woman who had a gunshot wound to her mouth. There was no weapon left behind, no ID on her, no cellphone, or anything else to confirm who she was. Investigations were slow but there was one lead investigators had. Grainy surveillance footage from outside of the hotel showed a man in a hoodie, running away from the hotel earlier that morning, just hours before the body was discovered.
