In this talk, we dive deep into the journey of Arturs Paulins, an athlete who faced a significant setback due to a doping violation. Arturs shares his shocking experience of receiving a positive doping test result from the Latvian anti-doping agency, which led to a lengthy and challenging process of trying to uncover the source of the banned substance. Despite the emotional and financial toll, Arturs remained determined to clear his name, ultimately accepting a reduced penalty to return to competition sooner.

As he reflects on his time away from the sport, Arturs discusses the mental and physical challenges he faced during his ban, including the struggle to maintain motivation and the impact on his training routine. He also shares insights into his comeback, the difficulties of returning to competitive form, and his aspirations for future competitions, including the European Championships. Artus emphasizes the importance of experience and teamwork in orienteering, expressing his desire to contribute to a Scandinavian club and mentor younger athletes as he navigates the next phase of his career.

After trees over the road driving towards the arena, it was clear that todays race at Madeira o meeting was cancelled!

Then Ivarnational went down from the mountains towards the levada and some flat running (and driving) together with the TuMe runners Øystein Kvaal Østerbø and Esa Huttunen. There the recorder came up, and we got a talk - both about the cancellation and the training at Madeira.
