It’s Not Good for Man to be Alone

    02.11.2026 | 43 min.
Lament is a spiritual practice, and grief is a holy work. But how does this relate to the topic of loneliness? Because some of us love giving God our ideas but not our tears.

You may not receive the comfort and peace you want because you’re not giving God your full self. When you’re missing that comfort, you feel lonely. And the best way to deal with loneliness is to have deep intimacy with the Father. We have to learn to grieve with God, but for many of us, our pride becomes a hindrance to that intimacy.

This is part two of a conversation between Preston and Jackie about loneliness. Catch up on part one if you missed it last week: “When You’re Lonely by Design and by Choice” https://youtu.be/wMXNsy9YDnI

When You’re Lonely by Design and by Choice

    26.10.2026 | 50 min.
Even when we're surrounded by people, we can still feel deeply alone. Loneliness will have you wondering, “Will anyone ever fully see me, know me, and love me in light of what they see?”

In this conversation, Jackie and Preston discuss the ways loneliness can leave us vulnerable, when it might be wise to choose being alone with God instead of running to other people, and how the enemy uses isolation to discourage us. They also explore why it’s important that we develop the trust, security and awareness of God’s presence so we’re not discouraged when people leave.

This is part one of a two-part conversation, so come back next week for even more discussion of loneliness.

Imprecatory Prayers, Friendship, and Jesus with Nona Jones

    19.10.2026 | 1 godz. 8 min.
What do you do with the pain that remains after you’ve forgiven someone?

If we look to the Bible for guidance, we see that one-third of the Psalms are “imprecatory prayers,” or prayers for justice or vengeance. It’s in those prayers that we can find some helpful language for handing over that grief and anger to God, trusting Him with the outcome.

Nona Jones joins Jackie and Preston to talk about her new book, “The Power of Petty Prayers.” They discuss why we can’t always wait for resentment to disappear before choosing to love, and how bitterness can become a debt we unknowingly hold against others.

From Dust to Dust: A Conversation with Jen Wilkin on the Theology of Aging

    12.10.2026 | 1 godz. 8 min.
What does the Bible teach us about aging, and how might our perspective change if we viewed getting older through a theological lens rather than a cultural one?

Preston and Jackie sit down with Jen Wilkin to discuss what Scripture says on the topic, explored further in Jen’s new book “Dust to Dust, Aging Wisely in an Anti-Aging World.”

Jen, Jackie and Preston talk about why our culture often approaches aging with fear and contempt, how the fall has shaped our experience of our bodies, and what it looks like to embrace aging as part of the story God is telling. They also discuss caring for aging parents, embracing our own future dependence, honoring the wisdom of older generations, and the church’s responsibility to care for people throughout their entire lives.

Moving from Bitterness to Resilience with Toni Collier

    05.10.2026 | 1 godz. 6 min.
Pain changes us, and it can make us bitter before it makes us resilient. We can also become more attached to our pain than to our Savior, and that’s idolatry.

Toni Collier joins the Perrys to talk about what bitterness looks like and what it means to reckon with our suffering instead of running from it. Toni and Preston discuss their individual experiences with ADHD and how their brains uniquely process trauma and pain. Toni unpacks her experience with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy and how it creates the space to process through hard things. Toni, Jackie and Preston together point to the fact that healing is a communal project – healing requires bringing our suffering to the Lord and to safe people in our lives.
