In another disturbing case, prosecutors say Brian Lanzim drove from Maine to New Jersey armed with guns and body armor after threatening his ex-girlfriend’s family, in what authorities believe may have been a planned family annihilation. And, in Washington, a woman was stabbed 48 times in what prosecutors now believe was staged to look like a home invasion.

In November 2025, 18-year-old Anna Kepner boarded a family cruise expecting sunshine, memories, and a relaxing vacation at sea.
